The brief

The Isle of Wight Council ("the Authority") invites Tenders from suitably qualified suppliers ("Potential Suppliers") for the provision of Respite Care Block Booked Beds.

This procurement follows the Open Procedure under the Public Contract Regulations 2015.

The aim of respite care is to enable personalised, quality, informal care arrangements to be sustained and to maintain a person's independence in their own home for as long as possible.

The common factor is not what service is provided, but its purpose: to provide a break which is a positive experience for the person with care needs and the carer.

For the purposes of this tender, the provider will make available access to at least 1 bed to provide respite care for eligible Service Users.

The bed will be paid for (at the standard rate) by the Isle of Wight Council irrespective of utilisation and this will ensure that the bed is reserved to be available for people with respite needs.

Services will be available seven days per week and should be bookable up to 12 months in advance for periods from one weekend to two weeks.

The term of the contract shall be 28th February 2024 until 27th February 2027 with the option to extend for up to a further 24 months at the sole discretion of the Authority.
