Q055 - Westhoughton High School - School Expansion

The Borough Council of Bolton ("the Authority") is prepared to receive tenders for Westhoughton High School - School Expansion which will be subject to the information, specification and tender package enclosed.

The Authority is proposing to carry out extensions and refurbishment works to the school to provide 13 no. new classrooms.

To achieve this, a new x2 storey classroom extension will be created to the front of the site.

The works are summarised as follows: 1.

Construction of new x2 storey Teaching Building 2.

Demolition of the timber framed ROSLA block.

3.

Internal alterations/refurbishment to the technology classrooms.

4.

Construction of a new single storey WC accommodation on the site of the ROSLA block including internal alterations/refurbishment to the existing building.

5.

Demolition of the existing link corridor to the Technology Block.

6.

External landscaping works including new macadam, steps, ramps etc.

7.

Upgrade to the B Block boilers.

The project will be delivered in 2 no. specific phases, but with an overlap in duration.

The main phases are summarised as follows: 1.

New x2 Storey Classroom Extension.

2.

Technology Alterations, ROSLA Demolition, Rear Extension, External Works & Boiler Works.
