The Council seeks a contactor to perform the following: • Inspect the new sport pitches at Western Park, Phase 1 Northstowe to ensure they meet the Sports Pitches Specification o The pitch sizes should meet the core criteria established by The Football Association, Sport England Design Guidance Notes and requirements of the National Governing Bodies. o All the grassed space should meet the required quality standards for sports turf as recommended by the National Governing Bodies. o All artificial surfaces and floodlighting should be constructed to meet SAPCA and ILP standards.
Floodlights carefully designed to minimise light pollution by selecting lighting that meets the criteria to localise luminance and confine it, as far as possible, to the pitches/courts. o Meet the National Governing Body standards in terms of design, dimensions, drainage, foundations, and construction.
The pitches should be equipped to the Governing Body recommendations including provision of goals, fencing, posts and nets. o The 3G STP to compile with The Football Association and World Rugby guidelines with a 60mm pile and in situ shockpad.
The pitch size is to be 100m x 64 but added to that is a safety area around the pitch of 3m leading to a pitch size footprint of 106m x 70m.
The FA recommended fence height on all sides of the STP is 4.5m.
The STP to be floodlit to an average illuminance of > 200 lux min. o The area allocated for the rugby grass pitch is 120m x 80m, which includes a 10m in goal area and a 5m run-off area for safety surrounding the pitch. o The bowling green to be 6 rink and be 41m x 41m, including a ditch. o A 2-court floodlit, formal MUGA with space for 1 tennis court, or 1 netball court, or 1 basketball court or 4 mini tennis courts with flexibility of each format.
