The London Borough of Hounslow will be tendering for Children and Young Peoples Social Care Advocacy contract to commence on the 30th June 2018, the contract will be for 3 years with an option for extend for a further 12 months.
The anticipated contract over the 4 years is £148,000, £37K per annum The Council is looking for interested providers to express their possible interest in tendering for this opportunity to provide an independent advocacy service to a diverse range of children and young people who access Hounslow's children's social care services.
To promote and uphold the views and wishes of the young people and ensure they have a say about decisions that affect them.
The service is designed to be as accessible as possible, and to support a minimum to 70 children per annum by providing them with key information, offer consultation and advice, carry out visits, attend meetings and support them to make complaints or make representations on their behalf.
The advocate will work in partnership with children's social care and will not seek to influence the child or young person with regard to their decision making, or making complaints.
The service will operate a confidential service in regards to all personal information unless there safeguarding concerns or risks identified, which will need to be shared with the social worker.
The entire advocacy service will be underpinned by the National Standards for the Provision of Children's Advocacy Services and the principles jurisdiction of the Children's Act 1989.
