North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) on behalf of NHS England South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)have tendered for a Lifecycle Primary Care Mental Health Service which includes service provision for children, young people and adults.
The key objectives of the service are as follows: To enhance and maintain psychological health and wellbeing of the population of South Tyneside To provide assessment and evidence based treatment to South Tyneside patients To offer a single point of access to primary care mental health services To ensure that patients are seen quickly and appropriately To ensure that the people of South Tyneside receive a safe and high quality service in line with Nice Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) guidance To provide a fully integrated service and a positive patient experience To effectively engage with patients To provide a flexible service to hard to reach groups across South Tyneside including people with LTCs, older people, people with learning disabilities and other diverse groups To provide advice and training to primary care health teams in identifying mental health problems with the aim of assisting them to manage psychological wellbeing and mental health.
The process will have two phases, which are as follows: Phase 1 - the anticipated contract start date for the adult primary care mental health services (including IAPT) and some Tier 2 children and young people's services is the 1st October 2015.
Phase 2 - will be the remaining elements of children and young people's services, with an anticipated contract start date of the 1st March 2016.
