The brief

NHS England is seeking to commission service(s) to serve the North Yorkshire & Humber Operational Delivery Network (ODN) area, to provide patient-finding and access to / support for specialist treatment for Hepatitis C infection.

This will complement and work in partnership with the ODN, who will retain overall clinical responsibility and oversight.

The service requirements are to deliver a minimum of 500 Hepatitis C Direct Acting Antiviral (DAA) treatment starts during the 12 month period from the service commencement date.

We would expect at least 80% to complete therapy and report on treatment outcome 12 weeks after completion (SVR12).

These treatment starts should be primarily within the North Yorkshire and Humber ODN, though patients from neighbouring ODN areas (in liaison with the relevant host ODN) can make up to 10% of the total number of treatment starts and, by specific agreement with NHS England, the service can expand to other pre-defined regions and negotiate to exceed the 10% from neighbouring ODNs.

The targeting and geographical coverage of the commissioned provision will need to be agreed between the Provider(s), ODN Trust and NHS England, to include specific geographical areas which may have been under-served or specific settings (e.g.

Gyms and Image & Performance Enhancing Drug Users).
