The brief

Procurement Information Notice 1.

Introduction It is the intention of the Contracting Authority to tender for a framework of providers, due to this being a framework, there will be no guarantee of activity.

The framework will be split into 2 lots, covering York Hospital and the Authorities two hospital sites on the East Coast, Scarborough Hospital and Bridlington Hospital.

The Ophthalmology Directorate at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust undertakes a range of Ophthalmology procedures for the local population at York Hospital, Bridlington Hospital and Scarborough Hospital.

Due to capacity constraints it has been necessary for an element of the annual activity to be subcontracted to other providers to deliver the activity within the Trust to satisfy the demand on the service.

The purpose of this notice is a request to other interested providers that are able to provide an element of the required capacity to support the Trust in the delivery of its activity.

Depending on the level of interest we may hold a supplier day.

2.

Scope of work/procedures YTH would expect the provider(s) to be prepared to offer the full range of Ophthalmology services, which would include acute, non-elective activity, as is undertaken in the NHS (with no exclusions) within Trust facilities at the York and/or Bridlington Hospital and/or Scarborough sites.
