The brief

Winchester City Council ("the Council") is seeking to procure the services of a highly skilled and motivated masterplan team with appropriate experience to produce a concept masterplan for Station Approach based on various studies done over the previous 5 years.

This project has the potential to contribute towards the Council's vision for a vibrant economy that makes best use of this key area.

At Station Approach, the council is looking for a sustainable mixed-use development which supports the green economy and improves the urban environment in this important gateway to the city.

The Council are inviting tenders from teams that can articulate our vision and produce a concept masterplan for the Station Approach area that is commercially viable, deliverable and meets council, stakeholder and community ambition to ensure that the potential of the regeneration opportunity can be realised.

It is anticipated that the lead consultant will be an urban designer/master planner with experience of development alongside transport infrastructure, with proven ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team.

The team should have a strong track record of designing and delivering high quality masterplans within a complex brownfield urban environment and demonstrate a clear understanding of place making in a heritage rich context.
