Bristol Waste Company has a statutory duty to provide facilities for the public to deposit household waste free of charge.
This includes a householders' own Hazardous Waste.
Bristol Waste Company also has a statutory duty to collect flytip material which may on occasion contain Contract Waste.
Bristol Waste Company is obliged to dispose of such waste.
Bristol Waste Company will seek to award one or two Contracts for the collection, processing and disposal of Hazardous Waste & Asbestos Waste.
The Contract Price is to include the costs of receipt, processing and disposing of Contract Waste.
The Contract Waste will be collected by the Contractor / Contractors and taken to the advised Treatment Site where the Contractor will apply their disposal process.
The Contractor will be deemed to have made all necessary arrangements and obtained all necessary permissions and licences for the handling, and processing of the Contract Waste in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.
The Contractor will be required to demonstrate that such arrangements have been made and permissions and licences have been obtained.
Whilst Bristol Waste Company endeavours to keep contamination to a minimum the Contractor must understand that contamination may occur as the waste is generated from busy HRRCs.
This is with particular reference to asbestos bins.
The Contractor is also advised to visit all sites to establish what is a typical load before submitting their tender response as Bristol Waste Company reserves the right to decline to enter into discussions about levels of contaminants during the Contract Period.
This contract is separated into two lots: - Lot 1 Hazardous Waste Collection & Treatment - Lot 2 Asbestos Waste Collection & Treatment Bidders have the option to submit proposals for either one or both lots by completing the Service Delivery Plan & Pricing Schedule outlined in Volume 3.
It is planned that the Contract will commence in February 2025 and continue for an Initial Term of 24 months.
