Devon has been at the forefront of Local Authority Collected Waste communication campaigns and waste education for over 15 years and has a diverse and active community sector.

The Community Action Groups Devon Project was established in 2016 with an aim to provide more direct community engagement within targeted communities and identify new and innovative ways of working to reduce waste, increase levels of reuse, recycling and composting.

The procurement's objectives are to support and contribute to the achievement of the following strategic documents: - Waste and Resource Management Strategy for Devon, - Resource and Waste Education Strategy for Devon Schools (2017-2022), - Devon Authorities Waste Communication Strategy, - Waste Prevention and Reuse Strategy.
