To procure a national service from a specialist consultancy to assist in the management and control of Legionella / water hygiene within NHSBT properties by the undertaking of Legionella Risk Assessments in all the properties owned or leased by NHSBT and to provide an electronic risk assessment data base.
The scope of the risk assessments shall extend but not be limited to: i.Town incoming main supply and Bore hole supply ii.Domestic Cold Water Services - Storage and Distribution iii.Domestic Hot Water Services - Generation Storage and Distribution iv.Faucets, showers, bib taps, etc. v.Medical / Laboratory equipment vi.Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV)/Thermostatic Mixing Taps (TMT) vii.Water Dispensers/Water Coolers and Ice Making Machines viii.Fire-fighting Systems (which share supply with the domestic water) ix.Emergency Showers/Eye Washers x.Portable humidifiers xi.Portable Air Conditioning Units xii.Mobile Screening Vehicles xiii.Temporary buildings/facilities xiv.Wet Air Handling Systems xv.All other systems that the Risk Assessor considers to pose a risk The objective of the Risk Assessment is to institute management procedures to ensure compliance is continuing and not notional.
One of the aims is to be able to demonstrate that management has identified all relevant factors, has instituted corrective or preventative action and monitoring that plans are implemented.
The appointed Legionella consultancy will be required to identify and prioritise recommendations on any remedial works which are identified during the survey.
