The brief

Expert consultancy support was required to identify, develop and assess approaches to allocating capacity released to customers seeking connection, as part of an ongoing review of connections.

This work was critical to support the Buyer's strategic priority of enabling time-critical investment in infrastructure supporting faster connections and strategic electricity transmission system investments (onshore, offshore and cross-border).

Work was needed to identify, develop and assess alternative approaches to allocating capacity made available to new and existing customers seeking connection or improvements to their connection dates, to facilitate connection of demand and generation necessary to meet net zero pathways and facilitate economic development in GB and improve customer's connection service.

In summary, during the term of this Call Off Contract the support will provide the following services: Research, analyse and assess options for allocation and reallocation of electricity network capacity, taking account of the analytical framework and key in-puts established through the review of connections Consider suitability, consistency, implementation considerations and design adaptations as relevant Develop and provide recommendations relating to the optimal approach(es) to allocating and reallocating capacity under different circumstances
