Newark & Sherwood District Council
Expressions of Interest are invited to Design & Build a modular above-ground swimming pool including all facilities as a turnkey project.
This is a large award for Construction — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 64,002 valued Construction tenders in our corpus.
Dukeries Leisure Centre Swimming Pool Development - Main Road, Boughton, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG22 9JJ.
The former swimming pool operated by the Dukeries Leisure Centre but owned by the Dukeries Academy has been closed since July 2017.
Since this time, limited swimming provision has been provided at two other locations within the vicinity, however, both facilities are owned by private organisations and offer limited access and opportunities for growth.
Newark & Sherwood District Council and its operator Active4Today would like to re-provide a new 20 meter by 10 meter with a constant 1.2 meter depth swimming pool for the benefit of the district and so invite Expressions of Interest for the entire development of a permanent above-ground, modular based swimming pool facility, located adjacent to the existing Dukeries Leisure Centre building.
Subject to the proposed site being established as suitable and within the Council's cost envelope, Newark & Sherwood District Council will require the successful organisation to develop the detailed designs for the entire development up to RIBA Stage 4 (technical design).
Once undertaken, the successful organisation will submit the necessary planning application, with the associated information.
Providing the submitted planning application receives the necessary consent and remains achievable inside the estimated cost envelope, the successful organisation will be contracted to deliver the entire development under a Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Design and Build (D&B) contract, providing the Council with a 'Turnkey' solution.
The successful contractor should note that the 'Turnkey' solution should not exceed £2,000,000.
All interested parties will be required to complete and return a PAS 91 Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) by 1st February 2019 in order to be considered further for this project.
The PQQ will be accompanied by a more detailed schedule of requirements to allow interested parties to gain a greater understanding of the overall project.
Interested parties can gain access to the PQQ by registering their interest in the project by 5pm on 18th January 2019 at www.eastmidstenders.org/
