The University of Sussex ("Sussex") is inviting expressions of interest for its upcoming tender for Staff Milling Machines.
The School of Engineering and Informatics is preparing for the delivery the Degree Apprenticeship MSc in Advanced Manufacturing.
The existing workshop contains some obsolete machinery and outdated equipment.
It is not configured for teaching.
The proposal is to remove all redundant machines and equipment, fully refurbish and install new data driven metal fabrication equipment in the existing workshop.
A revised layout of the space will provide a new teaching environment.
The current proposal plans to have the refurbishment complete by April 2025 but this timeline is currently still subject to approval and may change, and as such should not be taken as confirmed.
