The brief

Tower Hamlets is seeking tenders for the artistic production of the council’s Annual Fireworks Display to be held at Victoria Park at 19:00 on Sunday 6th November 2016 from suitable creative fireworks companies.

Tower Hamlets has a reputation for presenting creative fire spectacles to celebrate Fireworks Night as part of the Arts, Parks and Events teams regular events programme.

In 2015 the Tower Hamlets Fireworks Display returned to Victoria Park, following a period of smaller displays taking place across parks in Tower Hamlets.

Nearly 90,000 people attended this event and we are expecting similar numbers for 2016.

The fireworks spectacle must be artistically driven and respond to this year’s theme (see below), working both with the parks natural assets and the innovative use of pyrotechnics, and other creative visual arrangements to augment the display.

2016 marks the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London, which has been chosen as this year’s theme for the council’s annual fireworks display.

The scale of the spectacle will need to be suitable for an audience of 90,000+.

The location of the spectacle will be Victoria Park East side directly adjacent to Grove Road, Tower Hamlets, E3.

To be considered for tender you must have relevant experience in the delivery of large scale creative fireworks spectacles for large scale events and have robust Health & Safety procedures and documentation in place.

Any company not able to demonstrate this will not be eligible to apply.

The anticipated contract start date is: Monday, 03 October 2016 The maximum value of the contract is: £45,000 (Forty Five Thousand Pounds) plus VAT Total Cost For a period of: Until services have been completed
