DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE
Customer Level Flexibility
This sits below the typical range for Research & Development contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
• The primary aim of this project is to collect evidence on consumer attitudes and behaviour for the ‘Consumer Demand-Side Response’ Literature & Evidence Review, which will feed into the Smart Energy Team’s Call for Evidence. • This project will test and complement existing findings from the literature and evidence on consumer engagement with DSR (and with smart energy more generally), as well as explore new themes. • Existing studies and trials have either been limited in their questions or sample size; this project will allow us to ask questions on a range of relevant areas to a nationally representative sample. • Verify some of our findings from the social research. • Test some of our policy options/thinking on a wider audience. • Customer attitudes to some of the more tricky political questions (e.g. strong nudge on smart appliances).
