The brief

Solihull Council is looking to appoint a suitable contractor for the delivery of landscaping works at Kingshurst Park on Marston Drive, Solihull.

The works involve the removal of some of the current play equipment and the supply and installation of new play equipment and associated safety surfacing.

Enhancement of the public park and play area to include: 1.

Removal of some existing play equipment and installation of new play equipment.

2.

New and replacement safety surfacing for play.

3.

New footpaths and resurfacing of footpaths with macadam.

4.

Minor tree pruning works and vegetation clearance.

5.

Supply and install seats, bins, picnic benches, bollards.

6.

Install foundations for Shade sail structure and oversee installation by the supplier.

7.

Tree, hedgerow, bulb planting, turf laying.

8.

Install bat and bird boxes.

9.

Bespoke entrance feature The contract has an estimated value of ?180,000 for the full contract term.

The Council is expecting to appoint one contractor to deliver these works.

The contract is expected to start in early January 2025.

The initial term of the Contract will be for the period of 15 Months from commencement.

This covers a period of 12 weeks for practical completion of the works to the park and a 12 month maintenance period to include the maintenance of trees to the area.

The tender submission deadline is 12:00 noon on Friday 1 November 2024.

All queries relating to the project must be submitted through the Council's tendering portal by close of business on Friday 18 October 2024.
