The brief

The User Centred Design Team is looking to procure a tool to support unmoderated remote user research during the Covid-19 pandemic, and thereafter, to increase the pool of participants available to us to undertake research.

The tool should enable researchers to set pre-defined usability tests for prototypes, wireframes and beta websites to ensure our digital products are well designed and fit for purpose.

The tool itself should be able to capture qualitative and quantitative feedback from participants to enable us to assess 'what' users do when they interact with a product and also 'why' they do it.

Typical outputs from the tests include narrated video or transcript from the participant whilst they interact with the product; plus web analytics (time to complete tasks, rate of abandonment), heatmaps and clickpaths of interactions.

Most of the tools we have identified are websites, however we are also looking for a tool with the supplier to recruit from their pool of participants, so we acknowledge there may be an ongoing 'service' element to it (which ideally we would like included within our subscription)
