Portsmouth City Council ('the council') is inviting tenders from suitably qualified suppliers to supply and deliver shrubs and other plants ('plants') to Portsmouth.
Two departments within the council, the Green and Clean Team and Parks department, are adopting a collaborative approach to procure the plants and shrubs that they buy throughout the year.
The council's Green and Clean Team plant and maintain amenity shrubs around the council's housing and property estates.
Proportions of these areas are replanted during dormant periods of the year to maintain the attractiveness of the housing properties and surrounding area.
The Council's Parks department shares the same requirement across the parks and recreational areas in and around the city.
The council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 20th August 2018, with the first order to be placed immediately afterwards for delivery in September 2018.
There is no fixed ordering template or timetable.
Orders will be placed during the year as and when shrubs are required throughout the cities estates.
The initial contract period will be for 2 years with possibility of extending the term by a further 2 years to a maximum total term of 4 years in increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
The combined estimated value of the contract is ?35,000 to ?40,000 per annum.
This is split ?20,000 for the Green and Clean team, and ?15,000 to ?20,000 for Parks.
