The brief

The Etruria Valley SPON upgrade and extension sub-project consists of three parts: Retrofit of fibre cables in existing ducts, construction of new duct route and implementation of backhaul tail Stoke on Trent City Council is looking to the successful bidder to undertake turnkey responsibility for the SPON upgrade on behalf of the City Council.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is further asking the successful bidder to, at their own cost, set up and install appropriate Active equipment and thereafter operate and support an Open Access platform and portal and marketplace that enables multiple service providers to sell broadband and IP products and services.

The bidder shall be responsible for: Project Management Network Design and Survey Network construction Fibre Deployment Provisioning of Gbps Services to both residents and the business community Deployment and Operation of the Open Access Platform The Council may seek to extend the model of Open Access provision to make it citywide, and therefore wish the bidders to indicate their willingness to operate in the wider capacity and demonstrate their capability and competence to extend this project throughout the city of Stoke-on-Trent.
