The council is seeking tenders for the demolition of Cascades.

Introduction Tenders are invited for the demolition of Cascades.

Tewkesbury Borough Council ("the Council")'s detailed requirements are defined in the tender documentation.

Background Cascades swimming pool in Tewkesbury was built and opened in 1970, Tewkesbury borough council plan to demolish the site in readiness for future development.

There was major refurbishment work completed to the fabric of the building in 1988 and in the mid 1990's whereby large amounts of asbestos was removed from the building.

The tender is for the demolition of the Cascades building and rear boundary wall allowing for the associated staff welfare site hoarding and equipment to complete the works.

A demolition asbestos survey will be completed prior to contract award, subject to the report findings a tender for the removal will be issued shortly and any removal is not to be included in the tender for the demolition.

The amount of asbestos in the building is minimal and no allowance of additional materials being removed from site should be made within the tender.

All utilities will be disconnected prior to commencement on site therefore staff welfare units will require alternative water and electrical supply's.
