Commissioners in Leeds are committed to ensuring that there is an active framework for fostering continuous improvement in the delivery of eye health services as a whole.
Providers of community ophthalmology services will be required to contribute to a Consultant Led Ophthalmology Network, (CLODN) with a responsibility to develop and implement citywide approaches to :- • Reducing unwarranted clinical variation • Development of appropriate, safe and effective clinical pathways and protocols (including care being delivered in appropriate settings using appropriate skill mixing • Sharing best practice • Fostering innovation • Assuring quality • Fostering system integration • Supervising system wide audit, training and development, and peer review/peer support.
The service will: Offer patients a choice of locations and appointment times, ensuring equitable timely and appropriate access; Ensure that patients are seen and treated in a safe environment, most appropriate to their care needs; Provide best value for money, delivering effective and sustainable use of resources.
A comprehensive consultant-led community ophthalmology service to provide a full local pathway for Leeds patients encompassing: • Clinical assessment and triage • Opinion and Advice for patients and referrers • Treatment and recovery where applicable • Discharge back to the appropriate level of care • Referral onwards only where appropriate Max price is based on 3+1+1 We are planning to have a bidder event in the first couple of weeks of the tender.
