The brief

Project future of stock: Post office Ltd currently stores and distributes stock to Post Office branches; including stamps, collectibles, forms, stationery, consumables, and marketing material.

Some are critical items without which the branch network would not be able to offer vital services to customers.

It's important that the service is stable.

The operation consists of managing goods-in from appointed suppliers, warehousing, storage, picking, packing and dispatching.

Supported by warehouse and stock management systems. outlne process: - preliminary market consultations: July 2019, - request for information: July to August 2019, - POL internal governance: September 2019, - POL Procurement activity: September 2019 onwards (subject to approval).

The market consultations and RFI are intended to further the Post Office Ltd's understanding of the available market solutions in terms of operational, technical and commercial solutions.

Subject to a successfully completing a request for information (our independent advisors will be conducting and evaluating the RFI) and the POL internal governance it is envisaged POL would run a procurement for outsourced warehouse operations.

It should be noted that POL intend to nominate a provider of courier services to manage the delivery to POL's network of 11 500 branches.

The process will be subject to POL's internal governance processes.

Post Office Ltd reserves the right to: - award the Contract in part or in whole or not to award the contract at all.
