Health By Design Decision Making Tool
HS2 requires s supplier to develop and provide a Health by Design Decision Making Tool to aid identification of health hazards and challenges for inclusion in 'health in design' decisions.
The supplier will also be required to provide training and support to HS2 personnel such as engineers and project managers involved in the design and construction process.
The Health By Design Decision Making Tool shall include; - development of a Health by Design decision mechanism, - development of training to support the project engineers and project managers to identify health hazards and make challenges for the inclusion of health in design decisions, - ability to support BIM to identify health outcome implications in specifications (e.g. materials or identified confined space working in operations and maintenance) and the data required to visualise in BIM, - design of a mechanism to calculate the costs of health in design decisions (to include capex, opex, individual, employers, society).
The deliverables are not required to be IT based at this stage, but are likely to be provided as a suite of documents and Microsoft Office files (such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
HS2 requires a supplier to have the relevant knowledge and experience to provide the service and a supplier that is able to meet the challenging timetable (contract commence 13th February 2017, deliverables required by target date of 31st March 2017).
It is intended to follow this contract with a second contract in a year's time for the provision of an IT based H&S Decision Making Tool.
