Highways England is responsible for managing the strategic road network across England.
It is our intention to replace the current incident screens and trailer system towards a product that utilises lightweight, weather resistance and cost-effective maintenance materials.
It is intended that the procurement programme will take place over a period of 22 months from January 2021 to the end of October 2022.Incident screens may be used either at incident locations or in work zones to block drivers’ view (from the live carriageway to the incident carriageway) of the incident or work activities that might cause distraction from driving.
These will be referred to as “free-standing incident screens”.
