Expressions of Interest in Hosting an Adult Critical Care (ACC) Transfer Service
In response to COVID19, intensive critical care teams have worked collaboratively to deliver local, regional and national mutual aid and support, which enabled delivery of safe critical care services across the country.
This model was seen as one of the success stories of collegiate ways of working during the pandemic.
Part of this success was the setting up of an interim ACC transfer service to aid load levelling.
Even though cases are reducing it is recognised, both nationally and regionally, that there is a lasting need to have a dedicated critical care transfer service to ensure patient safety and efficient running of critical care units.
In response to this a national service specification has been drafted.
