This is a large award for Transport Services — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 20,160 valued Transport Services tenders in our corpus.
This is a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Patient Transport Services (Especially Renal Patients and other categories of Patients).
The Authority’s requirements are for patients without access to alternative transport options, such as relatives/friends or the voluntary sector.
This will include those patients whose own transport arrangements are temporarily unavailable.
The Renal Service within NHS Grampian is based in units at the following sites: Aberdeen, Stonehaven, Inverurie, Peterhead, Elgin, and Banff.
The total number of lots is 8 (1 for each of the 6 dialysis units, 1 for journeys to satellite Renal Units out with a patient’s local area or to ARI, and 1 for journeys to and from RI of Glasgow or Edinburgh).
From the tenders received, the Authority intends to appoint a minimum of one provider each for lots 2-6 and a maximum of two providers to lots 1, 7, and 8.
The service is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
