The brief

The Authority is looking to engage with a contractor to design, build and fit-out a new school for children with severe learning difficulties, catering for a minimum of 110 children between 3 and 19 years old.

The expectation is that the school will operate from a single site, and include a hydro pool, parking and a green space equivalent to that already provided.

The site is located at DY8 5ST.

The school will focus on the following outcomes: • Deliver strong education for pupils aged 3-19 years who have complex needs, severe learning difficulties, including autism and pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties • Deliver an appropriate level of attainment in line with each child's expected level recognising every child is different and clearly focusing on achieving their full potential • Deliver a holistic approach to driving the life and career chances for each child in line for preparing each child for adulthood
