As part of the City of Edinburgh Council (the Council) plan for Retrofit and Regeneration of their Social Housing across the City, the Council will undertake major refurbishment of two residential blocks located in the North of Edinburgh, Oxcars Court and Inchmikery Court.
The Project will improve the current energy performance of the building to an EPC rating of B, which will play a crucial role in comating the rising costs of energy for the residents.
The works comprise of a full external refurbishment of the blocks along with all common areas including the generous landscape.
The project will introduce insulation and air tightness in the form of an entirely new building envelope which sits 1.5m outside of the existing frame.
The entirely new structure to the existing building will help alleviate the difficulties of running services throughout an existing building with purpose-built service routing.
The estimated cost of the work is GPB25m – GBP30m This market consultation exercise is an opportunity for potential bidders to participate in shaping the Council’s procurement strategy and gain insight into the proposed development strategy.
