The brief

MARKET ENGAGEMENT EVENT FOR PROVISION OF PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICES (PTS) FOR THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND PETERBOROUGH INTEGRATED CARE BOARD (ICB) NHS Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (ML CSU) on behalf of the Commissioner, NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board (CPICB), would like to invite providers to attend a 'Market Engagement Event' which will inform the market of the Commissioners' intentions to procure their Patient Transport Services (PTS), to include Planned Patient Transport Service (PPTS), Unplanned Patient Transport, High Dependency/Blue Light Transport, Bariatric and End of Life Transport, and Call Centre.

Please note that registration at this event does not count as registration for the full procurement process, which will be separately advertised we hope in June 2023 via Finder a Tender and Contracts Finder websites.

Interested providers will need to respond to this when advertised ,whether or not they attend the Market Engagement event itself.

The aim of the service is to ensure a consistent and robust eligibility screening service that enables providers to deliver a high-quality, timely, dignified, and safe patient transport to specific cohorts of patients, ensuring all eligible patients are able to travel without any adverse impact on their medical condition.

The main benefits and expected outcomes are:  Dedicated service's that focus on quality and service user experience whilst supporting patient flow across the health system  A service that is easily accessible to everyone and supports and promote the wellbeing of our patients.  Service's that work collaboratively with other providers and ICS partners to achieve system wide continuous improvement.  For providers to become integral partners in the ICS.

The contract anticipated to start 1st of October 2024 is likely to be for 5 years with the possibility of extension for up to another 5 years, and the indicative contract value will be circa £90m.

Please note that this information is indicative only, and all these factors may change up to the point of the formal procurement process and should not be relied upon as exact data at this stage.

The Market Engagement Event will take place in the morning of 25th May 2023 from 1030am-1200pm on MS Teams (invite link will be sent after registration requests have been received).

The Market Engagement Event will provide: • an overview of the service to be provided • details of the anticipated contract type, length and particular conditions • the structure of the new pathway for patient transport services in CPICS • an overview of the procurement process and anticipated timelines • an opportunity for you to ask questions and feedback on the presentations.

The service will be commissioned via an open type procurement process conducted in line with the Light Touch Regime, and will be advertised to all providers which is proportionate to the value and complexity of the service and contract.

The ITT when published, will be advertised on Contracts Finder and the Find a Tender service, and on MLCSUs' procurement portal, Atamis, which will be utilized for the tender.
