The brief

The Satellite Applications Catapult is seeking a suitable provider to build a full-scale model of a space station module.

The model will be used as part of the Catapult’s IOSM facility to evaluate robotics, tools, and techniques.

The model is to be cylindrical and be 8m long and 4m diameter.

It should be mounted on a suitable transport jig to allow movement around the facility to suit the needs of projects.

This jig should include a method of locking it in place for test campaigns.

The model should feature a framework suitable for mounting robots up to 30kg in weight externally and internally.

Internally this framework should provide a 2.5m wide x 2.5m high working space within the model and allow the fitting of standard equipment racks based on the International Standard Payload Rack format.

This should include a floor structure suitable for human operators.

Externally the model should feature removable panels with suitable mounting points for equipment to be fitted as required.
