The University of Central Lancashire
Vet School - Plastinated Specimens
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) requires an extensive collection of high quality plastinated specimens to be used by the School of Veterinary Medicine to complement anatomical teaching and learning.
Plastinated specimens must be ethically sourced.
The specimens must be true to size, clean, dry and durable, and free from any hazardous substances to enable students to handle without the requirement to wear gloves.
These should cover a wide range and variety of species across a range of anatomical regions to enable the students to develop anatomical knowledge across a broad range of animals.
The plastinated specimens are particularly important to allow students to gain familiarity with body regions where dissection is often more difficult or limited
