Persona operates Elmhurst short stay facility for older people at Whalley Road, Whitefield on behalf of Bury Council.
The facility supports older people with a range of social care needs and health conditions, some of whom are living with dementia.
It has a modern but homely feel.
There are 27 beds open 365 days per year.
We are looking for a catering provider at Elmhurst to provide catering for short stay customers within the home.
The service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and undergoes regular inspections from both CQC and the Bury Council Quality Assurance Team.
The provider will need to work in synergy with the short stay facility to: • Promote healthy eating and wellbeing to the short stay customers. • Contribute to employment and economic development in Bury by providing work placement, volunteering and apprenticeship opportunities for disabled people and young people. • Provide healthy, nutritious, high-quality food with excellent choice and which meets a range of dietary needs including cultural and medical requirements including halal, kosher, soft diet, puree, sugar free, fat free etc. • Meet inspection requirements (Care Act 2014) specifically in respect of nutrition, choice, hydration and diet and contribute to the overall service being safe, effective, responsive, well led and caring.
The contract is for the period 1st March 2024 to 28th February 2026 With an option to extend for a further 12 months
