The brief

The London Violence Reduction Unit MyEnds The London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is awarding the second iteration of its award-winning, community led MyEnds programme to 9 consortiums.

The MyEnds programme intends on utilising a hyper-local approach to address needs in neighbourhoods across the capital that are most affected by high and sustained levels of violence.

The core model endorsed by the VRU for this programme is based on the empowerment of communities, recognising the critical role and collective impact community stakeholders have in local violence reduction initiatives.

Fifteen boroughs had been shortlisted as eligible for MyEnds 2.0 based on analysis of areas which were consistently rated highly on a range of violence and public health indicators.

VRU Area Prioritisation Tool identified areas (at ward-level) that have values within the top 15% of wards in London over a substantial period (from 2018-2023).

Based on this listing, the 15 boroughs with the highest-scoring wards were shortlisted.

Eligible Boroughs were: Islington, Croydon, Lambeth, Hackney, Enfield, Haringey, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Camden, Brent, Greenwich, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest.

ITT was published under the light touch regime (LTR) - PCR 2015, in the ITT VRU stated it intends to award minimum of 6 consortiums, during the course of the tender process more funding was made available to the VRU, a decision was made to award to 9 consortiums for the initial period of 2 years with the option to extend further 2 year, totalling a 4 year contract awards for each consortium.

The extension options will only be considered once the VRU has sought appropriate internal governance approvals to exercise the extension option.
