Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5 (“Round 5")
This is a services concession contract.
The Crown Estate, as managers of the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, is seeking to award seabed rights to prospective developers of floating offshore wind farms in the Celtic Sea as part of its Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5 (“Round 5").
Round 5 aims to deliver up to 4.5GW of new seabed rights, across three project development areas.
These rights will be governed by three individual seabed ‘agreements for lease’, which will be awarded to three successful bidders through a competitive tender process.
Holders of the agreements for lease will acquire the rights necessary to develop floating offshore wind farms and will ultimately enter into leases with The Crown Estate for the construction and operation of these wind farms.
Further information is included in the Round 5 Information Memorandum, which can be found at: https://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/our-business/marine/round-5.
The Crown Estate will hold a Bidders Day for Round 5 which will take place at Swansea Arena in Swansea, Wales on 31 January 2024 and all suppliers who may be interested in the Round 5 opportunity are encouraged to attend.
Suppliers will need to register for the Bidders Day and can do so via this link: https://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/our-business/marine/round-5.
Should suppliers wish to express a non-binding early indication of interest in participating in Round 5, they may do so by registering on The Crown Estate’s e-tending portal via this link: https://etendering.thecrownestate.co.uk.
