Waste Routes for CS-137
NTS are attempting to identify possible, pre-existing, or established waste routes for materials contaminated by Cs-137 sources.
Materials are in physical form and can range from small amounts of contaminated swarf or debris to larger items such as PPE, handling equipment, lifting equipment and ancillary equipment.
All of this waste will fall under the standard description of Low-Level Waste or below.
The general size of this low-level waste is predicted to be 1m squared.
The desired waste route is compliant disposal of the items, with any interim storage and operational requirements specified.
