NHS England South West Renal Dialysis: Satellite (adult) Services - Taunton, Yeovil and Frome
NHS England South West (The Commissioner) is seeking to recommission Renal Dialysis Satellite (adult) Services in the region.
Satellite dialysis refers to the provision of dialysis treatment in smaller, community-based facilities that operate as extensions of larger hospital dialysis units.
These centres are strategically located closer to where patients live, reducing travel time and making treatment more accessible and convenient for those with chronic kidney disease.
Satellite units offer a less clinical and more patient-friendly environment, whilst clinical responsibility remains overseen by a specialist Trust.
Units are staffed with skilled nurses and technicians and play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for patients by providing essential, life-sustaining treatment closer to home.
