The brief

This contract is to engage the services of a single provider to undertake County Durham's Local Healthwatch requirement.

Local Healthwatch activities must be carried out by an organisation which complies with Regulation 35 of the Local Authorities (Partnership Arrangements, Care Trusts, Public Health and Local Healthwatch) Regulations 2012.

Local Healthwatch is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services.

They are in place to find out what matters to people and help make sure their views shape the support they need.

There is a local Healthwatch in every area of England and it is a mandatory requirement for local authorities to commission a service.

Local Healthwatch listen to what people like about services, and what could be improved, and share views with those with the power to make change happen.

Local Healthwatch also help people find the information they need about services in their area.
