Positive Futures focuses on mentoring for those vulnerable pupils interested in sport, fitness, and activity that would benefit from informal education / mentoring for 1-2 hours per week, with a trusted relatable experienced role model, using trauma informed youth work approaches to engage and improve the individual (e.g. build resilience, improve decision making, improving overall wellbeing, and supporting their role in the community and in achieving through education).
Pupils who attend the Positive Futures Service are either placed within the Aspire Education Programme provided by Newport Live and/or the Council's Bridge Achievement Centre.
