The Department for Business and Trade (DBT), on behalf of the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), have established a multi-lot Open Framework under the Procurement Act 2023 to procure a broad range of product testing services supporting its role as the UKs national product regulator.
The framework will cover construction product testing, consumer product safety testing, energy efficiency and noise compliance, chemical and microbiological analysis, and cybersecurity and digital compliance testing for connected products, underpinning OPSSs regulatory enforcement and market surveillance activities.
The framework is expected to operate for up to eight years, with an estimated total value of £43 million (excluding VAT), and may be reopened during its term in line with open framework provisions.
