The brief

Wavenet will be providing a fully managed internet service for the site at New Mansion Square which consists of providing connectivity to the commercial units (tech hub, cultural unit, 11 other units + 1 more in future) and the residents longue (coworking, cinema room, phone booths) Following the cablers recent site survey, it has been identified that additional cabling infrastructure is required to support the delivery of a managed connectivity solution.

The existing cabling infrastructure is only suitable for BT’s FTTP network, which is residential in nature and does not support the service levels or resilience expected of a business-grade managed service.

In order to deliver on the brief, the following works need to be carried out: Cabling • Cables linking each unit to the Main IT Room • 1 x cable will be run from the Main IT room to each of the 14 units in scope • Cables will be 4 core fibre • Cables will be run using existing routes – roof voids, cable trays, and underground ducting • Internal cables will be tight buffer internal type • External cables will be CST armoured protected • 1 x LC 4 Duplex fibre tray will be installed in each of the in-unit comms cabinets Units 1 and 2 • Although not currently in scope, a cable will be run to the marketing suite to save cost and complexity in future • If the suite is not accessible, the cable can be left coiled and secure nearby, ready for installation when this unit is being refurbished Main IT Room A new cabinet will be installed to keep our equipment safe and segregated from other contractors • This will be a 20u floor standing cabinet (800mm x 800mm) • 1 x LC 48 Duplex fibre tray will be installed • 1 x 6way PDU will be installed.

This will connect to the Commando unit – currently not in-use • Cabling for WiFi Access Points (APs) • In the resident’s lounge and the tech hub, a single Cat6 cable will need to be installed for connecting the AP • This will be run from the in-unit cabinet to the ceiling, where the AP will be installed • In all of the other units, the APs will be wall mounted to save on additional cabling work Wavenet will be providing a fully managed internet service for all commercial units as mentioned above. • Wired and wireless internet access on day 1 for all incoming tenants • Fully managed support • Scalable service which can be replicated at other sites Once the cables have been linked they will install a 10Gb bearer with 1Gb bandwidth.

This will allow Peabody to increase capacity to 10Gb at anytime.

They will install the infrastructure which consists of 10Gb firewall, which will meet the requirements of content filtering.

Wifi WiFi experience includes: secure access, private networks, roaming (the ability to stay connected across the entire site), and analytics.

Monitoring and Analytics Wavenet will have visibility of the network health and performance and proactively resolve issues.

All systems will provide visibility, insights and reports to our teams.

Remote and Onsite Engineers • Helpdesk and 24 / 7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) • Proactive Network Monitoring • Performance optimisation • Incident Response and Troubleshooting • Documentation and Reporting Wavenet Limited shall perform the services to provide connectivity to the commercial units mentioned as described in their proposal Schedule 2 (Wavenet Connected Proposal for Peabody) Option A – Enterprise Switches and Opex costs.

Due to the existing cables not being suitable and tenants moving in quickly Peabody require a temporary solution to be put in place as mentioned in the Temporary Connectivity – Option 2 1GB Wireless Leased Line, this will be retained as a backup service.
