Greater Manchester Combined Authority
Utilities - Gas and Electric
The procurement contact named on the official notice.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is intending to procure a contract for Utilities - Gas and Electric, A1173.
The contract will provide the gas and electricity services required across the GMP estate.
As utility contracts tend to have specific dates by which to stay "as is" or register for a new scheme with the same provider, GMP periodically reviews the current contract and available alternatives.
The current contract uses a Crown Commercial Services framework for the purchase of gas and electricity, namely the V30 plan.
Any new contract will need to allow for the advance purchases that are made through this plan.
As part of the Police Efficiency and Collaboration Programme, Bluelight Commercial (BLC) are currently looking at the category of utility contracts.
GMP will consider the outputs of the BLC review as part of its decision making process.
It is anticipated that the procurement process, including any appropriate market engagement, will commence in quarter 3 of the 2025/2026 financial year.
