The brief

The Authority intends to commission a single-supplier framework for Shared Lives management.

The Provider will deliver a Shared Lives Scheme in Wolverhampton that will be provided to individuals assessed as needing care and support under the Care Act 2014 or Children Act 1989, who reside in the City of Wolverhampton.

While Shared Lives is primarily designed for adults aged 18 and over, it can begin working with young people from age 16 as part of transitional planning into adult services.

Shared Lives is a form of community-based adult social care in which individuals receive support from a Shared Lives Carer, either by living in the carer's home on a short-term or long-term basis, or through day support and respite arrangements.

It is not residential or nursing care in the traditional sense, but offers a personalised, family-style alternative.

The framework will be for two years with plus one, plus one extension options (2 + 1 + 1).

The framework is intended to commence on 1st July 2026.
