Birmingham City Council (the "Council") is seeking to appoint an organisation for the provision of a Birmingham Community Equipment Loan Service on behalf of the Council and Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board.
The purpose is to provide a Birmingham Community Equipment Loan Service that enables Birmingham citizens to live as independently as possible in their chosen home and enables Health and Social Care Services to function effectively and without delay, preventing citizens from developing more complex needs and protecting them and their carers from harm or injury.
The contract will commence on 1st April 2027 and will be in place for a period of 5 years with the option to extend for a further 5 years subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The contract will be awarded to a single provider.

This would result from commissioning activities within the Council, the Birmingham Children's Trust, the BSOL Integrated Care Board (ICB) or Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and associated Health Services.
Commissioning activities include, but are not limited to, identification of outcomes, identification of need and funding opportunities.
The following potential contract modifications have been identified at the time of this tendering opportunity: - Dynamic Pressure Mattresses (DPM); estimated value up to £1m per annum. - Solihull Community Equipment Loans Service; estimated value £1.9m per annum. - Birmingham Technology Enabled Care; estimated value £3.8m per annum.
The total value of identified potential contract modifications is up to £67,000,000.
Note there may be a requirement for modifications that are not included here.
