The Independent Living Services ILS (disabled facilities service DFS) are a division of the Council that helps people remain independent living at home.
As part of this function, Disabled Facilities Grant funding is made available to carry out adaptations to the home, these grants are made available for all tenure types.
The works carried out involve the adaptation of domestic properties including the installation of specialist equipment and / or the provision of adaptations and works that prevent slips, trips and falls in and around the home or make the home more accessible for those with disabilities.
