Overview: Bournemouth University is seeking to appoint a professional and experienced cleaning contractor to provide high-quality, reliable, and comprehensive cleaning services across its full estate.
The appointed contractor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards to a consistently high level across all areas, in support of the well-being and experience of students, staff, visitors, and affiliates.
Scope of Services: The successful contractor will be required to deliver cleaning services on a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year basis, covering all parts of the University estate, including but not limited to: Academic and Administrative Buildings: Lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories, libraries, offices, and communal areas.
Student Accommodation: Both University-owned and managed residential buildings.
Public Areas: Entrances, foyers, restrooms, corridors, lifts, staircases, and outdoor communal spaces.
Special Events Support: Ad-hoc or scheduled event cleaning, including graduation ceremonies, open days, and conferences.
Emergency Response Cleaning: On-call support for spillages, weather-related cleaning, or hygiene incidents.
Objectives: Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment conducive to academic excellence.
Deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness across all facilities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Employ sustainable and environmentally responsible cleaning practices.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the University’s operational and academic calendar.
Key Requirements: Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale, multi-site cleaning contracts.
Capacity to operate 24/7, 365 days per year, including public holidays.
Robust quality assurance and performance monitoring systems.
Competent, trained, and uniformed cleaning staff, including appropriate supervision.
Ability to use eco-friendly products and cleaning technologies.
