The brief

Durham County Council (the Council) has a duty to provide services for vulnerable residents who are eligible for care and support according to the national criteria introduced by the Care Act 2014.

This opportunity is for the provision of Domiciliary Care Services and Reablement.

The domiciliary care element is applicable to children, young people and adults and the Reablement element is applicable to adults aged 18+ only.

The Council is committed to the delivery of high quality Domiciliary Care Services and Reablement and wishes to work in partnership with Independent Sector Providers, who can demonstrate and deliver quality Services which achieve and maintain 'value for money' and positive outcomes for Service Users enabling them to live independently and safely in their community.

Services are to be delivered across 10 Demand Zones.

Please note that each zone is ranked as per the titles of the contracts detailed in this notice.

The Council makes no guarantee to any provider on the New Contracting Arrangement that they will be awarded any individual placements, and no guarantee is made in respect of any volume of work under any such agreements, or in aggregate under the New Arrangement.

Therefore although all contracts have a cost attached in this notice however this cost will vary and payment will be made for each individual placement as per the contract specification.

The new arrangement has an overall contract value for all zones of £300 million.
