973513137 T1391 Expressions of Interest & Market Engagement Questionnaire for How to enable parcels traffic using existing stations and passenger train dwell times.
We are planning a project to investigate the operational and engineering feasibility of enabling bulk mail and light goods traffic to be handled using existing station infrastructure and rolling stock.
The work will consider typical platform/station spaces, boarding and alighting arrangements, management of passengers on platforms and handling equipment, and for bulk mail and light goods.
Additionally, the impact of parcels on train dwell times—especially at intermediate stops—must be thoroughly assessed.
