The brief

The works comprise the upgrade of the Trust’s water storage on site.

The Work is located in the existing Towers of Block P (East and West Towers).

The scheme involves the provision of new storage tanks and associated new pipework/systems connecting onto the existing infrastructure systems being retained.

The works will involve a contractor design solution to provide the new mezzanine floors to support the new storage tanks including altering and adapting the means of access to the new/existing facility.

Whilst the majority of the new installation works can be undertaken simultaneously, the final connections/bringing the new tanks/system live must be done sequentially.

The contractor will be required to commission (including chlorination) the first tank to allow partial possession of the works prior to commencing the final connection works for the second tank.

It is envisaged that the existing tanks will still be in use to allow draw off of water from the existing tanks until empty and the new tanks are fully commissioned.

The contractor is required as part of their submission to provide a cost for emptying the tanks and removing the same.
