Brook Street - Pengwern Llangollen Active Travel Improvements
The procurement contact named on the official notice.
This sits below the typical range for Construction contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 64,002 valued Construction tenders in our corpus.
Denbighshire County Council wish to appoint a contractor for a scheme within Llangollen which will upgrade sections of the existing footways to improve active travel connectivity, journey quality and ease of travel for pedestrians and cyclists.
The proposed upgrades will include widening sections of existing narrow paths, widening junction radii, improving crossing facilities, introducing dropped crossings, improving pavement quality and introducing raised junction tables and side entry treatments.
The improvements aim to develop active travel links, particularly for school pupils and those people wanting to access the town centre from the residential areas to the south of the town, and encourage the use of walking and cycling as a means of travel within the town and beyond.
Llangollen is a traditional market town and is a large draw for tourism.
It is located in southern Denbighshire within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
